Options for Extra Garbage Collection
One garbage container not enough?
You can sign up to have our garbage truck return on the day before or the day after your regular garbage day. Employees will "tip" your container into the truck on that day for a $10 charge on your bill. That can help you get rid of extra trash from holiday celebrations.
You can ask to have a second garbage container located at your home for a minimum of 6 months for an extra $13 per month if you need more space on a regular basis.
Remember, each week you may leave up to 4 household items at the curb on your normal collection day. Objects should be no larger than a single trash bag, under 40 lbs. & easily carried by one employee. Examples include small straight chairs, upright vacuum cleaners, fans, lamps, brooms and mops. These items should be bagged if possible.
To schedule extra tips or containers, call the Garbage Hotline at (716)661-1651 or log onto www.jamestownbpu.com. Click on My Account on the homepage to reach your customer page. On the left side under the house icon, you'll see forms that are available to complete and submit online.
