Gregory C. Anderson
In January 2020, Mayor Eddie Sundquist appointed Gregory C. Anderson as a BPU Board Member.
Biography & Employment
Anderson currently works as a quality assurance consultant, developing content and training for local manufacturers in the Greater Jamestown Community.
Anderson retired from Ring Precision Components, where he served as Quality Assurance Manager from 1996 to 2020, and as Process & Quality Control Inspector from 1976 to 1997. His employment at Ring included oversight of Quality Control in a high precision manufacturing environment of 90-100 employees including review of customer requirements, processes, purchase and maintenance of all metrology equipment. He managed the departments of Quality Control, Polishing, and Shipping/Receiving. Under Anderson's leadership, Ring Precision maintained a less than 2% scrap/rework cost relevant to sales, which is below industry standards. He is trained in Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9000, Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement.
A Jamestown High School graduate, Anderson holds a two-year Mechanical Technology Certificate specializing in drafting, design and machine theory. The Board Member holds the Jamestown Community College degrees of AAS Electrical Technology and AAS Mechanical Technology.
Other Boards & Accomplishments
Anderson has served as a Jamestown Area Youth Soccer (JAYS) coach, coordinator and board member and coached both youth basketball and baseball. A past United Way Allocation Committee member, he is an American Red Cross Century Club Blood Donor. Anderson is a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the Centennial Committee and as a regular volunteer at the Yassou Festival. He participates in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign and is a volunteer with the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation "Grow Jamestown" campaign.
Married with two sons and five grandchildren, Anderson and all of his family members live in Jamestown.
