Maria Jones was named to the Board in 2013 and currently chairs the Board Finance Committee. A lifelong Jamestown resident, Mrs. Jones has served as a City Council Member for nine years, representing Ward 5, and is City Council Public Safety Committee Chairwoman.
Mrs. Jones has worked at Cummins, Inc. for 40 years, presently serving as Machining Team Manager. She is a member of the Cummins Diversity Council and assists as a Diversity Lead Trainer. Mrs. Jones also has been the Associate Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jamestown for eight years. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a graduate degree in Strategic Leadership.
An active community member, Mrs. Jones received several honors, including the United Way Volunteer of the Year; the YWCA Chautauqua County Women of Achievement Award; the Cummins Diversity Ambassador Award; and the Zonta Women in Leadership Award. She was a keynote speaker at Chautauqua Institution, sponsored by the Chautauqua Society for Peace.
Mrs. Jones has served on the Board of Directors at St. Susan Center; the Jamestown Community Learning Center; the Scholarship Committee of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation; and as Chair of the YWCA Racial Justice Committee. She has volunteered in the Women’s Aglow Jail Ministry and as a United Way Project Blueprint Trainer.
Maria and her husband Wesley Jones have been married for 33 years and have a daughter Katrina.
