Jamestown City Mayor Sam Teresi reappointed Ms. Zenns to a two-year term on the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities effective January, 2018, after she first served her four-year term from 2014-2017.
Ms. Zenns is a Jamestown Community College (JCC) Professor who is a long-time City resident. She currently is a member of the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency (JURA) and previously served as chairperson of the City of Jamestown Planning Commission.
Ms. Zenns earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics from St. Bonaventure University where she later took additional coursework through its Masters of Business Administration Program. In addition, Ms. Zenns completed a Masters of Arts in Economics and Finance at the State University of Binghamton.
Since 1986, Ms. Zenns has taught many different JCC courses including Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Marketing, Contemporary Economic Problems, Global Business and Introduction to Business and Personal Finance. During her JCC career, Ms. Zenns has been honored with the Faculty Award for Excellence; the Community Service Award Ė AIDS Community Service of Western New York; the Presidentís Award for Excellence; and the SUNY Chancellorís Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Ms. Zennsí professional growth has included conferences and study trips to Europe and Asia. She has served as a Reader/Table Leader for Advance Placement Exams in Macroeconomics for Educational Testing Services and as a member of the Macro and Micro Economics Examination Test Development Committee for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).
Ms. Zenns lives in Jamestown with her husband Gilbert Lindahl.
