Jamestown City Council Chair Gregory P. Rabb was appointed to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) Board of Directors by Jamestown City Mayor, the Honorable Sam Teresi, effective January 1, 2008, as a Council representative.
A former Assistant Dean of the Division of Business and Social Sciences for the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses of Jamestown Community College (JCC), Rabb is a JCC professor of government, politics, economics and law. In May 2011, Rabb was honored with the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. He also serves as Coordinator of Global Studies at the college and received the JCC Faculty Award for Excellence in 1987.
Rabb is a consultant to Educational Testing Services and the Middles States Office of the College Board and is a revision author of an American government text book entitled “People and Politics.” He has been a visiting professor in economics at SUNY Fredonia.
In public service, Rabb has chaired the Jamestown City Planning Commission since 2000 and has served as Vice Chair of the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency. He served from 1998-2007 as a member of the Chautauqua County Planning Board.
A Canisius College graduate, Rabb earned a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois and a Law Degree from the University of Buffalo School of Law.
